Bickerton Hall Barns - The Local Area

Bickerton is a quiet village nestled in the beautiful Cheshire countryside.

An excellent primary school is just 200 yards away, there is a popular Church nearby, dating back from the 1800’s, and Cholmondeley Business Park is close by.

Good beer and excellent cuisine is available at many local restaurants and public houses, within easy reach of the barns, such as the Bickerton Poacher, Cholmondeley Arms, Copper Mine, Durham Heifer, Frogg Manor, Egerton Arms, and Broxton Hall.

While the barns are located within the rolling Cheshire countryside, they are also conveniently close to many major routes, including those to Chester, Liverpool, Manchester, Shrewsbury, and to the South of the Country. Train stations are also located in Chester and nearby Crewe. Many other facilities are also close by, including the market towns of Nantwich and Whitchurch, and a wide range of schooling is available in the region.

Stride out along the famous Sandstone Trail and sample some of the finest walking in Cheshire. Follow the ridge of sandstone that rises dramatically from the Cheshire plain and enjoy this invigorating walk, which includes rock outcrops, woodlands, castles and historic churches, at any time of year.

Cholmondeley Castle is just over two miles away, where there is something for everyone. Extensive ornamental gardens are dominated by the romantic Gothic Castle. The site includes a lakeside picnic area, children's play areas, rare breeds of farm animals, including llamas, and a children's corner. There is a Private Chapel in the park, a gift shop and tea room. There are also plants for sale. During the summer months various events take place in the gardens, the most important and spectacular is the Music and Firework Concert, which takes place in July.

Bickerton really does have so much to offer, excellent local amenities, various attractions, wonderful views, fresh air, and beautiful walks, while retaining easy access to Chester City Centre and further a field.
